Assignment Goal: To concisely summarize recent research ‘news’ and provide your ‘view’ on a primary journal article in a ‘News & Views’ format using language that is accessible to a broad scientific audience. Instructions: Choose 1 journal club paper that was discussed in class on Oct 1 (Diabetes) or Oct 22 (COVID) and write a 2-page summary / critical analysis in the format of a ‘News & Views’ article. What is a News & Views article? • These articles inform non-specialist readers about new scientificadvances, as reported in recently published primary papers • News & Views articles typically accompany a primary resesarch article in the same issue. They are intended to provide a broadly accessible summary and perspective about the scientific advance in the research article.
