Advanced Exercise Principles & Practice
Task: Write a safe, effective and progressive 6 week programme for your client thinking of the underlying physiological responses required to meet the client’s needs/goals.
Use the following titles with the minimum your write up should include:
Fitness testing (20 %)
• The strength & weakness of the tests including any other tests that you think more appropriate and why, with support from the literature.
• The client’s weaknesses including the data from the tests and the goals of the programme.

Six week exercise programme (20 %)
Your case study should outline in detail the client’s programme for the following 6 weeks. Your plan should be structured such that the individual could look at any day (e.g. Tuesday week 3) and be able to determine what that day’s schedule is. Your plan should incorporate FITTA principles and attempt to achieve SOAPR.

Underlying physiology in support of the programme (40 %)
• Scientific explanation for the programme, what underlying physiological adaptations do you expect your client to gain from doing the programme. This needs to be supported by the literature/references
Any other advice given (10 %)
• Did you give any further advice, diet etc
What strategies are you going to put in place to decrease the risk of your client relapsing.
Recommendations for the next 6 weeks programme and why you would prescribe it? 10 %
• What do you expect your client to gain from this part of the programme
